Nvidia Accelerates Telecom Push with China-Based AI Base Station Partners
Nvidia is accelerating its entry into the telecom operator market by seeking AI base station suppliers in China. The company plans to develop 6G AI-RAN base stations, which handle both communication connections and AI computing tasks.
The base stations will be based on Nvidia's CUDA ecosystem and are expected to be launched within the next two years. Nvidia has already established a partnership with Shenzhen Jiaxian Communications and is cooperating to develop 6G AI-RAN base stations.
The company believes that the transmission of computing power from data centers to massive AI terminals and users in the future will ultimately rely on wireless transmission via base stations.
Nvidia's ambition in the communications field is evident, as it has already made significant investments in this area. In 2025, Nvidia announced that it would subscribe for new Nokia shares with $1 billion, holding about 2.9% of the shares.
