Nvidia AI Chip Customers Face Over 15% Price Hikes
Nvidia customers are facing price hikes of over 15% for servers containing AI chips, according to Bloomberg News. The increases will affect systems shipped early next year and will depend on Nvidia's chip generation and memory configurations.
The price hike will impact systems including those with the flagship Vera Rubin and Grace Blackwell chips, which are used by companies that build servers under contract for large data center operators such as Microsoft, Alphabet Inc.'s Google, and Oracle. These customers have recently been informed of the upcoming increases.
Nvidia's AI infrastructure has become a proxy for the broader AI ecosystem, with the company playing a crucial role in the rapid expansion of data center capacity. The price hike is set to be announced along with Nvidia's second-quarter results on August 26.
