Nvidia, AMD Lobby Trump Administration Over Chip Export Restrictions
Nvidia and AMD are lobbying the Trump administration to halt potential restrictions on their chip exports to China.
The companies have intensified their efforts in recent weeks, reaching out to the White House and senior members of the Commerce Department, according to a Politico report.
Last week, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and AMD's CEO Lisa Su joined President Donald Trump at the head table during the state dinner honoring Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The firms are urging the administration to discourage lawmakers from including China-related chip export restrictions in the annual defense policy bill, which has bipartisan support.
