Nvidia and Blackstone Fuel AI Infrastructure Boom with $2 Billion Firmus Investment
Australia-based AI infrastructure company Firmus has secured $2 billion in equity funding from investors including Nvidia NVDA, Blackstone BX, Coatue and Jane Street. This latest round nearly doubles Firmus' valuation to over $10.5 billion in just four months.
The company builds and operates large-scale AI factories, or data centers packed with advanced GPUs, power systems and cooling infrastructure. It's expanding its Project Southgate network across Australia and into Southeast Asia.
Nvidia and Coatue made follow-on investments in this round, while Blackstone-managed funds and Jane Street joined the financing. Firmus has now raised over $3 billion in equity over the past year, with the latest valuation jumping from roughly $5.5 billion in April.
