Nvidia and Broadcom Battle for AI Chip Supremacy
Broadcom and Nvidia are two companies at the forefront of the global artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure build-out.
While Broadcom's recent growth is impressive, with AI semiconductor revenue jumping 221% year over year to $16.7 billion in fiscal 2026's Q3, accounting for 56% of the company's total revenue, Nvidia's growth is more substantial from a larger base.
Nvidia's revenue surged 106% year over year to $96.2 billion, while Data Center revenue jumped 117% year over year to $89 billion in fiscal 2027's Q2.
Broadcom benefits from one of Nvidia's biggest risks: the shift toward custom accelerators, which could pressure Nvidia's share of inference computing while creating additional revenue opportunities for Broadcom.
