Nvidia and d-Matrix Announce Breakthroughs in AI Infrastructure
The massive AI Infra Summit 2026 in Santa Clara drew over 9,000 attendees and featured six tracks of sessions on various topics related to artificial intelligence infrastructure. Nvidia's Ian Buck took to the stage to discuss new benchmarks for the Vera CPU, which showed significant outperformance compared to AMD Turing CPUs on agentic workloads.
The Vera CPU significantly outperformed AMD Turing CPUs by 50-100% in some cases, according to Ian Buck. Clickhouse also commented that the Vera CPU was the fastest machine they had measured to date. Nvidia introduced power management firmware called DSX MaxLPS, which can reduce operational power and enable more AI Factory revenue.
Nvidia announced a partnership with d-Matrix, which will leverage Nvidia's infrastructure, including NVLink Fusion, Vera CPU, and the MGX rack, to extend the useful life of Nvidia GPUs in inference. The next-gen Raptor chip from d-Matrix will support stacked DRAM and deliver 10X the performance at 1/10th the power.
