Nvidia has agreed to provide over $100 billion in credit support for an OpenAI data center in Ohio, marking one of the largest AI infrastructure deals on record. The project, set to be completed by 2032, will see Nvidia invest $1.5 billion into SB Energy, an energy company founded as part of SoftBank Group.

The data center, located at the PORTS-Pike Technology Campus in Pike County, Ohio, is expected to provide up to 8 gigawatts of AI computing power. OpenAI will lease this capacity under a 20-year agreement, while SB Energy will build, own and operate the facility.

Nvidia's chief executive, Jensen Huang, stated that the company is using its scale and long-term visibility to help build out AI infrastructure. He noted that land, power and infrastructure have become a critical constraint on AI factory deployment.
