Nvidia Balance Sheet Reveals Next Phase of AI Investment
Nvidia's upcoming earnings report is not just about beating expectations, according to Bank of America Securities analyst Vivek Arya. The company's balance sheet and disclosures around its funding of the ecosystem are where the real story is being written.
Arya argues that while Nvidia is expected to beat earnings estimates, the market is more interested in understanding how the company plans to fund its investments in AI technology. This includes NVIDIA's current state of free cash flow, which could potentially reach $1 billion every weekday by this time next year, according to Arya.
Nvidia's balance sheet shows that it generated $50.34 billion in operating cash flow and $48.55 billion in free cash flow during Q1 FY27. The company also authorized an additional $80 billion share repurchase and raised its quarterly dividend from $0.01 to $0.25 per share, returning $20 billion to shareholders in the first quarter.
Arya believes that Nvidia is still undervalued, trading at a PEG valuation ratio of 0.3 times earnings growth, which is significantly lower than the average stock. He estimates that the company's valuation could be between 30-50% too low relative to its fundamental earnings growth.
