Nvidia Boosts Share Buyback Plan by Record $150 Billion
Nvidia has significantly expanded its share buyback authorization by $150 billion, pushing it past Apple's previous record of $110 billion in 2024. This new authorization brings Nvidia's remaining buyback capacity to a substantial $235 billion through fiscal 2028.
The company attributes this move to the strong cash generation driven by surging demand for AI training and inference. 'Our cash generation gives us the capacity to invest in the technologies that advance this transformation and return capital to shareholders,' said CEO Jensen Huang.
Nvidia's shares have gained over 20% so far this year, with a forecast of about 70% revenue growth for fiscal 2028, providing reassurance to investors about the sustainability of the AI spending surge.
