Nvidia Brings RTX 50-Series GPUs Back Down to Earth at PAX West
Nvidia has returned to selling its Founder's Edition RTX 50-series GPUs at MSRP in person at PAX West. The company is offering a selection of RTX 5070, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090 models while supplies last. This move comes after a sharp rise in prices for Nvidia's highest-end graphics cards over the past month.
The median list price for the RTX 5090 has risen by as much as 39% in recent weeks, with some online deals available at Micro Center stores for as low as $4,200. However, most listings remain above $5,000. Nvidia's Verified Priority Access (VPA) program, which allows users to purchase Founder's Edition cards at MSRP, has also seen a shift towards offering GPUs during live events.
According to Jacob Freeman, GeForce Evangelist at Nvidia, interested gamers can 'come find me' if they want a GPU. This is not the first time Nvidia has offered its GPUs in person at an event, as it did something similar at QuakeCon in Austin, Texas last month.
