Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is downplaying the significance of artificial general intelligence (AGI), saying it's already been achieved in some respects. AGI refers to AI that can match or surpass human cognitive abilities across a wide range of tasks.

In a recent interview, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman shared his company's goal of achieving AGI by the end of the year. However, Huang disagrees, stating that Nvidia has already achieved AGI in some respects.

'For many tasks, we could say that we've already achieved AGI,' Huang said during an earnings call on Aug. 26. 'I think of all those milestones... they're kind of senseless at this point.'
