Nvidia CEO Willing to Sacrifice Students' Cognitive Skills for AI Advancement

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has expressed his willingness to sacrifice students' cognitive skills for the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI). In an interview on the Ezra Klein Show, Huang acknowledged that AI is causing significant harm to students, particularly in math and critical thinking.

A study cited by Klein found that 26,000 Chinese students who used AI in their schooling showed a decline in cognitive skills over time. Despite this evidence, Huang seemed unconcerned, stating that 'it doesn't matter' if students forget basic math skills like long division or multiplication tables.

Huang's response sparked concern among critics of the tech industry's approach to AI development. Some argue that the focus on AI safety is misplaced, as companies like Nvidia prioritize profits over the well-being of future generations.
