Nvidia Chip Market Dominance Secured by Amazon's Words
Nvidia's dominance in the AI chip market has led to triple-digit revenue growth and record levels of revenue, with investors piling into the stock and scoring a major win.
However, one particular challenge has worried investors: competition. Companies like Advanced Micro Devices and Amazon sell AI chips, making it difficult for Nvidia to maintain its lead.
But in a recent earnings call, Amazon's Andy Jassy pronounced 15 words that may have eliminated Nvidia's biggest risk: 'We have customers who will run on Nvidia for as long as we can foresee.'
Jassy clarified that Amazon isn't trying to replace Nvidia but offer customers options and different price points. He also stated that AWS would continue to be the best place to run Nvidia chips.
This means that demand for compute is so high that many companies will need to provide it, making it a win-win situation for chip designers like Nvidia.
