Nvidia Closes Gap with Apple M4 Max in Multi-Core Performance
Nvidia's upcoming ARM-based processor, RTX Spark, has made significant strides in its development. A recent leak from the Geekbench 7 database shows that the SoC has narrowed the gap with Apple's M4 Max to just 11% in multi-core performance.
The RTX Spark was tested in two laptop configurations with 64 GB of unified memory, both running under the 'Balanced' power profile. The more powerful version, featuring a 20-core CPU, scored 2,570 points in single-core and 23,126 points in multi-core. Meanwhile, the 18-core CPU version recorded 2,541 and 21,776 points, respectively.
While Nvidia's processor still lags behind Apple's M4 Max in single-core workloads, it has made significant gains in multi-threaded workloads. The RTX Spark features an integrated graphics based on the Blackwell architecture, with the 20-core model boasting a GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores and the 18-core version featuring 5,120 CUDA cores.
