Nvidia Confirms DLSS 5 on RTX 40 Series, Optimizing Performance First

Nvidia has confirmed that DLSS 5 will eventually be available on RTX 40 series graphics cards, despite initially announcing the technology as an RTX 50 series exclusive.

The company says it needs to fully optimize performance for RTX 50 series cards before expanding support to older GPUs. Since its initial announcement in March, Nvidia has achieved a 5X performance gain through hardware and software optimizations.

Nvidia representative confirmed that DLSS 5 is currently available on RTX 50 series cards but will expand support to RTX 40 series once performance is 'more fully tuned.'
