A tinkerer and gamer combined their passions to unlock professional-grade features on their Nvidia consumer graphics card.
The user, a seasoned computer enthusiast since 2005, experimented with various methods to split their aging GTX 1050 Ti into multiple vGPUs for virtual machines.
After discovering the vgpu_unlock script on GitHub by DualCoder (Dual95), they successfully spoofed the card's ID to trick the host system into believing it was a Quadro/Tesla, unlocking mdev and SR-IOV capabilities.
