Nvidia Crushes Revenue Growth with Data Center Dominance
NVIDIA and Alphabet reported quarterly results that highlight their distinct approaches to AI leadership.
NVIDIA's Data Center segment saw a 92% revenue increase, driven by demand for InfiniBand, NVLink, and Spectrum-X. The company's gross margins remain at an extraordinary 75%, with a P/E ratio of 41x. NVIDIA's stock price has been relatively stable, closing at $200.75, up just 13.01% over the past year.
In contrast, Alphabet's revenue growth was more modest at 24.2%. However, its cloud business reached $24.77 billion, growing 82%, and Google Cloud adoption is accelerating. Alphabet's long-term debt has increased significantly, from $46.5 billion to $98.2 billion.
The two companies' business models reflect their different approaches to AI infrastructure. NVIDIA sells the compute hardware, while Alphabet builds on it and buys it. This vertical integration allows Alphabet to offer a unique vertically optimized AI stack.
