Nvidia Cuts Price of AI System Amid Memory Crunch
Nvidia has unveiled a cut-down version of its DGX Spark system, priced at $4,999. This lower-cost option comes with half the memory and storage of the original model.
The move is aimed at making AI systems more accessible amid an ongoing memory crunch that has led to a 75% price hike for Nvidia's 128 GB DGX Spark to $6,950.
The new 64 GB version of the DGX Spark will be offered exclusively through hardware partners such as Acer, Asus, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, and MSI. It features the same 20-core Arm processor from MediaTek and onboard ConnectX-7 networking, which enables clustering of up to 4x GB10-based devices at 200 Gbps a piece.
Nvidia will also be rolling out new software tools for DGX OS later this month to facilitate cluster configurations and inference deployments. This is necessary as the previous setup required some tinkering in the CLI and tweaks to the vLLM or TensorRT-LLM launch commands.
