Nvidia's DLSS 5 technology has proven to be a game-changer for graphics card performance, but it comes at a cost. According to tests by Korean outlet QuasarZone, the GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition reached power draw levels of nearly 650W when using DLSS 5.
This high power consumption also translates to increased heat generation, with the 16-pin (12VHPWR) power connector recording temperatures exceeding 90 degrees Celsius. Interestingly, this temperature is higher than what's typically seen on the GPU die itself.
The GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition has been touted as one of the best graphics cards available, and it seems to live up to its potential with DLSS 5. However, users should be aware that they may need to take extra precautions to keep their graphics card's temperatures in check.
