Nvidia DLSS 5 Works in Browser with Non-Nvidia GPUs via WebGPU
A developer known as MAAN has successfully implemented Nvidia's DLSS 5 technology in a web browser. The technique, which is hosted on Cloudflare Workers, allows users to run an interactive demo of the AI-powered rendering system even on non-Nvidia GPUs and macOS.
The demo features adjustable settings and a comparison view for a side-by-side look at the performance difference with and without DLSS 5. One default scene is 'Cowboy Gramps,' which showcases the capabilities of the technology. However, it's worth noting that this browser port takes around two seconds per render.
The implementation uses WebGPU to make the technology work in a web browser, allowing users to experience AI-powered rendering even on non-Nvidia hardware and operating systems.
