Nvidia Earnings Report Could Trigger Market Correction or Boost
Nvidia's upcoming fiscal Q2 2027 earnings report on August 26 is expected to validate or unsettle the stock market, particularly after a string of 'beat and retreat' patterns. The tech giant has beaten consensus estimates for four consecutive quarters, but each time was met with a selloff.
Nvidia's market cap stands at $5.21 trillion, making it the single most important earnings print this season. Benchmark raised its July-quarter revenue forecast to $92B with EPS at $2.10, setting an even higher bar for Nvidia.
A strong quarter with forward guidance would confirm the $3-4 trillion annual AI infrastructure buildout projected through 2030 and propel the S&P toward UBS's 8,100 target. However, a miss or weak guide could trigger a sharp correction given extreme bull positioning.
