Nvidia Earnings Report May Trigger Buying Pressure
Nvidia's upcoming earnings report on August 26 is being closely watched by investors as it may trigger a surge in buying pressure, according to Goldman Sachs data.
The company remains the largest AI stock that U.S. large-cap mutual funds are reluctant to fully own, with funds underweight Nvidia by roughly 100 basis points.
This positioning is striking because Nvidia is at the center of record AI infrastructure spending, and its earnings strength could force institutional managers to chase the stock.
Goldman's data shows that Nvidia has the largest underweight among major AI-related stocks tracked, with Advanced Micro Devices underweight by roughly 60 basis points, Alphabet and Microsoft underweight by about 70 and 50 basis points respectively, and Meta Platforms underweight by roughly 30 basis points.
