Nvidia Earnings Report: What to Expect After August 26
Nvidia is set to report its second-quarter earnings on August 26. The company's guidance has projected revenue of $91 billion, plus or minus 2%, with year-over-year growth of around 95%. Analysts expect Nvidia to post adjusted earnings per share of $2.09.
The majority of Nvidia's growth is likely to come from its data center business, driven by the demand for graphics processing units (GPUs) in artificial intelligence applications hosted in data centers. The company's CEO, Jensen Huang, predicts that Nvidia will generate a whopping $1 trillion in total sales between 2025 and the end of calendar year 2027 from its Blackwell and Rubin GPUs.
In the past, Nvidia has consistently beaten Wall Street earnings estimates for 13 consecutive quarters. However, this does not necessarily mean that the company's stock price will rise immediately after the quarterly update. In fact, Nvidia's share price has fallen in some cases even when it has exceeded earnings expectations.
