Nvidia Employee Among Nine Charged in Taiwanese Server Smuggling Scandal
Taiwanese prosecutors have charged nine individuals with illegally exporting AI servers to China. Among them are an Nvidia employee and two Supermicro employees from Taiwan.
The case involves 130 ordered B300 servers, but only 74 of these systems actually arrived in China. The remaining 56 were intercepted by Taiwanese customs officials after they noticed irregularities in the shipment destined for a company in Japan.
The suspects are accused of forging end-user documents to conceal the true destination of the servers. Despite being 'fully aware' of internal control procedures, they allegedly collaborated to generate profits.
