Nvidia Invests $3.5 Billion in MediaTek: Expanding AI Partnership

Nvidia has invested $3.5 billion in MediaTek through convertible bonds, expanding their partnership in AI data centers, local AI computing, and smart vehicles.

The investment will also see MediaTek adopt Nvidia's NVLink Fusion platform to help cloud service providers and major tech companies develop custom XPUs that can connect to Nvidia AI systems.

This deal is seen as a significant move by Nvidia, with JPMorgan analyst Harlan Sur noting that the company's FY28 70% year-over-year growth framework is not a ceiling on demand, but rather a floor, and without supply constraints, business growth could have exceeded 100%.
