Nvidia, Marvell, and AMD Lead AI Chip Rally with Strong Gains
Semiconductor stocks tied to the AI infrastructure boom continued their upward trajectory, with Nvidia, Marvell Technology, and AMD all gaining on Tuesday. Nvidia extended its record-breaking run after closing Monday at $239.11, bringing its market capitalization close to $5.77 trillion. The company is now less than 5% away from reaching a $6 trillion valuation, reinforcing its central role in the AI trade.
Marvell Technology saw its shares jump about 6%, while AMD also moved higher as investors reacted to improving growth expectations across custom AI chips, CPUs, GPUs, and data-center networking. Marvell has been a standout performer, raising its revenue outlook for fiscal 2027 and fiscal 2028. The company expects revenue of roughly $12 billion for fiscal 2027 and about $18 billion for fiscal 2028, driven by stronger connectivity demand and a sharp acceleration in custom silicon. In June, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang called Marvell a potential future $1 trillion company, which helped trigger a 32% one-day rally in MRVL stock.
AMD is also preparing for increased AI demand. CEO Lisa Su announced plans to substantially increase chip supply in 2027, following expanded capacity throughout 2026. She is meeting with major manufacturing and memory suppliers in Taiwan and South Korea to secure sufficient wafer and memory capacity for expected demand. AMD's rise above a $1 trillion valuation in September demonstrated how the AI chip rally has broadened beyond Nvidia. The AI chip market now includes several distinct winners, with Nvidia dominating accelerators, AMD expanding GPU and CPU supply, and Marvell gaining exposure through custom silicon and networking.
