NVIDIA Nears $6 Trillion as ETFs Offer Diversified Exposure
NVIDIA (NVDA) has reached a new all-time high of $239.86, pushing its market capitalization to an estimated $5.78 trillion. This surge follows a seven-week period of sideways trading and was driven by a record $150 billion increase to its share buyback authorization, totaling $235 billion through fiscal 2028. The largest buyback in corporate history reflects management's confidence in NVIDIA's long-term growth and the AI infrastructure boom. Currently, NVIDIA represents 11% of the Nasdaq Composite and 8% of the S&P 500 Index.
The company's second-quarter fiscal 2027 revenues hit $96.2 billion, a 106% year-over-year increase, primarily from its Data Center segment. NVIDIA's accelerated computing platform is central to AI training and deployment, with management expecting fiscal 2028 revenues to grow about 70%. Analysts are bullish, with the highest price target at $515 and an average target of $326.07, suggesting a 36.5% upside from the last closing price of $238.90.
While NVIDIA's prospects are strong, investing in ETFs offers diversification and reduces risks associated with single-stock exposure. Key ETFs with significant NVIDIA holdings include the Strive U.S. Semiconductor ETF (SHOC) with a 21.98% weight, VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH) with 19.14%, iShares U.S. Technology ETF (IYW) with 17.15%, and State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) with 15.52%. These ETFs provide broad exposure to the semiconductor and tech sectors, mitigating risks while capitalizing on NVIDIA's momentum.
