Nvidia Partnership Set to Transform IREN's Fortunes
Nvidia's partnership with IREN is set to transform the company's fortunes. The five-year deal, worth approximately $5.50 billion, will see IREN pivot towards a vertically integrated AI cloud platform. This shift in focus means that IREN's operations are increasingly tied to data center build out, GPU supply constraints, and execution on high-value AI cloud services rather than cryptocurrency cycles.
The partnership with Nvidia provides IREN with preferred access to GPUs in a sector where CoreWeave and Nebius are both raising capital and increasing AI compute prices due to tight supply. However, this deal also increases the firm's exposure to execution risk, as any delay in Nvidia hardware deliveries or high-bandwidth memory constraints could slow the AI revenue ramp.
IREN has reported widening losses and less than one year of cash runway while rapidly expanding data center infrastructure. The company's narrative projects $13.6 billion in revenue and $1.6 billion in earnings by 2029, based on analyst assumptions of 168% yearly revenue growth and a swing from a loss of $702.6 million to a profit of $1.6 billion.
