Nvidia, Salesforce Fuel Tech Sector Gains Amid AI Growth Optimism
Wall Street's technology sector led gains on Thursday after Nvidia and Salesforce reported stronger-than-expected profits for their latest quarter.
Nvidia, a chipmaker, climbed 7.6% after delivering robust profit and revenue results that exceeded analysts' forecasts. The company also provided optimistic guidance for future revenue growth, which further boosted investor confidence in the AI-focused stock.
Salesforce, another major tech firm, surged 20.7% following its announcement of record-breaking profits driven by AI-powered growth. CEO Marc Benioff noted that demand for Salesforce's AI and data products is 'incredible' and at an unprecedented scale.
However, not all companies fared well. HP fell 6.7% despite beating profit expectations, while Best Buy declined 4.2% despite topping analysts' revenue projections. Dollar General rose 6.5%, but its rival Dollar Tree dipped 2.2% after missing estimates on key revenue metrics.
