Nvidia Secures $3.1 Billion Loan for Southeast Asia AI Project
Nvidia has secured another major infrastructure project in Southeast Asia to support the growing demand for AI computing. The company is partnering with Zankore, an AI platform that will use Nvidia's GPUs and cloud infrastructure in Indonesia.
The deal involves a senior term loan facility of up to $3.1 billion, which was advised by Citi and lent by several banks, including Citi, ING, Natixis, Qatar National Bank, and United Overseas Bank. This funding will support the development of 100 megawatts of Nvidia infrastructure before expanding to 1 gigawatt of AI factory capacity.
This project highlights the growing need for outside financing in emerging markets where customers may require significant investment to deploy expensive GPU technologies. The structure of the deal also includes revenue-sharing and credit-support arrangements designed to tie deployment more closely to customer demand.
