Nvidia has received an AA issuer credit rating from S&P Global Ratings after announcing its plans to provide a residual value guarantee for an AI infrastructure campus in Portsmouth, Ohio.

The company will offer a minimum guaranteed value of $105 billion to SB Energy for the data center campus, which is expected to be completed between 2028 and 2030. OpenAI will serve as the tenant, and Nvidia will supply GPU and infrastructure systems to the AI lab during each buildout phase.

S&P Global Ratings estimates that the residual value guarantee will result in a debt adjustment of $4.2 billion in 2028, increasing to approximately $37.7 billion in 2031 before declining according to a predetermined schedule.
