Nvidia Sees Explosive AI Demand Driving Chip Sales
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang expects the chip giant to sell twice as many chips next year, driven by expanding demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Huang made this prediction while attending an AI summit in Scotland, where industry leaders discussed the benefits and challenges of AI development. The comments were made during a discussion on how AI is becoming increasingly useful across various industries and economies, with Nvidia's management citing customer forecasts that suggest growth could double next year.
Nvidia has already seen significant revenue growth, with $96.2 billion in quarterly revenue, up 106% from the previous year, and data centre revenue reaching $89 billion, a 117% increase year-on-year.
The company's formal financial forecast points to roughly 70% revenue growth in its next fiscal year, but Huang's prediction highlights the growing demand for AI infrastructure. Nvidia's product range now includes CPUs, networking processors, and complete rack-scale AI systems, with the Vera Rubin platform entering production and expected to become the fastest product ramp in the company's history.
