Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang believes agentic AI will soon become a norm in the workplace. Agentic AI refers to automated systems powered by AI that largely act independently to carry out tasks.

Currently, most AI is prompted by people, but Nvidia expects this trend to reverse as companies increasingly rely on agentic AI. 'I believe that this last month, it has crossed,' Huang said in a recent earnings call. 'Most AI are now agentic.'

Nvidia's recently released Vera central processing unit (CPU) is designed specifically for running agents. CPUs are critical to carrying out the tasks the AI triggers, whether that involves accessing files or managing workflow orchestration.

Huang predicts a significant shift in the number of employees and agents within companies. 'We have 40,000 employees, roughly,' he said. 'In the future, we'll have 400,000 agents, 4 million agents.'

Nvidia's investment in agentic AI is backed by numbers. The company sees $20 billion in potential revenue from Vera CPUs this fiscal year and potentially more than double that number in fiscal year 2028.
