Nvidia Sets Sights on Anthropic Deal as AI Market Expansion Continues
Nvidia is expanding its reach in the artificial intelligence market by negotiating an anchor investment in AI developer Anthropic. This move would position Nvidia squarely in the model-development layer it currently supplies from a distance.
Talks with Anthropic are preliminary, but the ambition behind them is significant. The company reportedly eyes an initial public offering that could raise as much as $100 billion and value the developer at roughly $2 trillion.
Nvidia's play would effectively finance a future customer, lock in long-term hardware offtake, and tether a leading model builder to Nvidia's own infrastructure.
This strategy is becoming increasingly familiar. Nvidia-backed British cloud provider Nscale is preparing a US listing, with filings revealing revenue growth of 1,252% in the first half of 2026.
Nvidia is also pushing deeper into the software layer, where the central hub for open-source developers is migrating under its corporate roof. By combining software, infrastructure, and model development tightly, Nvidia may create a wall that rivals will struggle to scale.
