NVIDIA Shares Fall Amid Global Bond Selloff and Soft September Seasonality
NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) shares fell by 1.5% on Tuesday to $217.44, following a low of $215.10. The company's stock traded 106,848,620 shares during trading, down 33% from the average session volume of 159,202,031 shares.
The decline in NVIDIA's stock price comes as the global bond selloff has pushed long-term Treasury yields higher, increasing the cost of capital and pressuring high-growth technology valuations. Semiconductor stocks broadly weakened as investors reassessed expensive AI shares, with NVIDIA facing historically soft September seasonality and concern that margins may compress due to paying more for constrained memory and networking components.
NVIDIA's recent results have been a significant support for the company's stock, with quarterly revenue reaching $96.2 billion, up 105.9% year-over-year, and earnings exceeding estimates. Management's reported outlook for roughly 70% fiscal 2028 revenue growth has prompted several analysts to raise price targets.
