Nvidia Slashes Market Cap with Record-Breaking Stock Buyback
Nvidia has announced its largest stock buyback in history, authorizing $150 billion to be added to its existing buyback program. The move takes the total remaining share buybacks up to $235 billion and is expected to reduce Nvidia's market cap by 4.2% over the next 16 months.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the company's cash generation gives it the capacity to invest in technologies that advance this transformation and return capital to shareholders. He added that the authorization reflects Nvidia's confidence in its long-term opportunity ahead.
Market experts are impressed by the move, with The Future Fund Managing Partner Gary Black saying the stock buyback increases Nvidia's total buying power to $235 billion.
