Nvidia's stock fell sharply in premarket trading on Monday, down around 2.7%, amid concerns over AI spending.

The chipmaker is reportedly considering a massive investment of up to $10 billion in Anthropic's planned IPO, which could value the company at around $2 trillion.

However, investors are more focused on the potential slowdown in AI development and its impact on Nvidia's business. Several AI industry leaders have called for caution around advanced AI systems, raising concerns about the pace of spending.

As a result, semiconductor stocks like Micron Technology and SanDisk also fell sharply, down around 5% each.
