NVIDIA Smashes Record with $235 Billion Share Buyback Boost
NVIDIA stock is on the rise today after the company announced a significant boost to its share repurchase authorization, increasing it by $150 billion to a total of $235 billion.
This move surpasses Apple's previous record of $110 billion in 2024 and gives NVIDIA the title of having the largest share repurchase authorization increase ever recorded by a public company.
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang framed the announcement as a direct expression of management's conviction in the company's long-term trajectory, saying that 'NVIDIA's growth is being driven by a once-in-a-generation platform shift to AI and accelerated computing'.
The record buyback authorization sends a strong signal of financial confidence to the market at a time when the broader tech sector faces headwinds, helping NVDA carve out a meaningful gain in pre-market trading.
