NVIDIA Stock Sees Major Shift in Institutional Investor Sentiment
NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) has been a major focus of institutional investors this year, and recent SEC filings have shed some light on their activities. Halter Ferguson Financial Inc., one of these institutional investors, cut its stake in NVIDIA by 76.2% during the second quarter.
The firm sold 43,328 shares of NVIDIA stock during the period, leaving it with a remaining 13,537 shares worth $2,709,000 as of its most recent filing with the SEC. This represents about 0.4% of Halter Ferguson Financial Inc.'s investment portfolio and makes NVIDIA its 18th biggest position.
This is not an isolated instance; several other hedge funds have been actively buying and selling shares of NVIDIA. Lummis Asset Management LP, for example, increased its position in the company by 16.1% during the second quarter, purchasing an additional 69 shares to bring its total to 497.
Despite some fluctuations in sentiment, NVIDIA remains a highly regarded stock among analysts and investors. Evercore has set a $465.00 target price on the company's shares and issued an 'outperform' rating. Analysts also point to NVIDIA's scale, diversified AI exposure, high profitability, and lower forward valuation multiple as key advantages over its peers.
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang recently stated that the company expects to sell roughly twice as many chips next year, driven by strong demand for GPUs, CPUs, networking equipment, and complete server racks. This forecast is seen as a positive indicator of the company's growth prospects, with some estimates suggesting revenue could remain near 70% in fiscal 2028.
