Nvidia's stock price has risen 2% to $219 in late-morning trading after CEO Jensen Huang revealed that chip sales are projected to double in 2027 compared to this year.

Huang made the statement at a Scotland tech gathering, echoing previous comments from management on the August 26 earnings call. The CFO had said that customer forecasts pointed to growth doubling next year and framed the fiscal 2028 outlook as supply-constrained with significant revenue potential.

The Vera Rubin platform is driving this demand, expected to be 'the fastest product ramp in NVIDIA's history' with per-gigawatt revenue opportunity rising to $40 billion from $25 billion on Blackwell. Huang stressed AI safety and the withholding of unsafe products from the market.

Nvidia's supply commitments have swelled to $279 billion largely tied to memory procurement for Vera Rubin, while management disclosed guarantee obligations capped at $108.5 billion for AI cloud partners.
