Nvidia Surges as Record Revenue Exceeds Analyst Expectations
Nvidia's stock price surged 8.4% on Thursday, reaching as high as $226.96 per share, after the company released its quarterly earnings report.
The results far exceeded analyst expectations, with Nvidia generating record revenue of $96.2 billion in its fiscal second quarter, a 106% year-over-year increase and an 18% quarter-over-quarter jump.
The data center segment was the primary driver of this growth, with revenue soaring 117% to $89 billion. The edge computing segment also saw significant gains, climbing 27% to $7.2 billion.
Nvidia's CFO Colette Kress stated that if not for supply constraints, revenue growth would likely exceed 100%. She also forecasted a 70% increase in revenue for fiscal 2028, significantly surpassing Wall Street estimates of 44% growth.
