Nvidia Surpasses Marvell in AI Semiconductor Chip Market Revenue
Artificial intelligence (AI) has taken center stage in recent years, and two companies that have greatly benefited from this trend are Marvell Technology and Nvidia. Both of these semiconductor giants provide crucial solutions for AI applications, with their revenue growing significantly over the past year.
Nvidia's revenue has surged ahead, reaching $81.6 billion in Q2 2026, up from $30.0 billion in Q3 2024. The company's EBIT margin stood at a healthy 66% for the same quarter. This impressive growth can be attributed to Nvidia's central role in the AI ecosystem, with its products being gobbled up by customers at a rapid pace.
Marvell Technology, on the other hand, has seen more modest revenue growth, reaching $2.4 billion in Q2 2026 from $1.3 billion in Q3 2024. The company's net income margin was 1% for the quarter ended May 2, 2026. Despite this, Marvell's consistent sales growth indicates demand for its solutions is growing.
Nvidia's partnership with the Japanese government to launch a national infrastructure project dedicated to AI is a testament to the company's dominance in the market. Meanwhile, Marvell's role as one of the 'picks and shovels' of the AI era is evident from its products being key components that are finding customer adoption.
