Nvidia to Double Chip Sales Amid Soaring Demand for AI Applications
Nvidia has experienced incredible growth in recent years due to its AI chip business. The company's powerful graphics processing units (GPUs) have become a key tool for artificial intelligence, and Nvidia has built on this by expanding its offerings into a full suite of AI products and services.
As a result, the tech giant's earnings have soared to record levels. In the latest quarter, revenue climbed more than 100% to about $96 billion, while profit also surged in the triple digits to $59 billion.
Nvidia's early bet on AI has paid off, and the company's pledge to update GPUs on an annual basis has supported its leadership in this market. However, some investors have worried about how far this AI boom can go, questioning the extraordinary levels of capital spending by tech companies to support the infrastructure build-out.
But Nvidia chief Jensen Huang recently announced fantastic news for shareholders: the company will double the number of chips sold next year compared to this year. This follows the company's first-ever forecast for the full year to come: a 70% year-over-year gain in revenue in the next fiscal year.
