Nvidia Tops $5 Trillion Market Cap as Growth Continues
Nvidia's market capitalization has surpassed $5 trillion, making it the largest company in the world by that measure. While some may question whether Nvidia's growth days are behind it, the chipmaker has a strong track record of expansion.
In 2009, Nvidia flashed a 'Double Down' signal, and this same indicator is now appearing for a smaller company. However, Nvidia is still growing rapidly, with revenue up 1,150% over the last five years and net income soaring 2,250% during that period.
Nvidia's current trailing price-to-earnings ratio of 26.7 is at a five-year low, making its shares cheaper than they were five years ago. In contrast, Apple's trailing P/E ratio is higher at 38.2, suggesting investors are more optimistic about Nvidia's prospects.
