Nvidia Unleashes $150 Billion Share Buyback Programme Amid AI Boom
Nvidia has announced an expansion of its share repurchase programme by $150 billion, bringing the total amount remaining under the plan to $235 billion. This increase is the largest in the company's history and will allow Nvidia to continue returning cash to shareholders through fiscal year 2028.
The move comes as Nvidia continues to benefit from surging demand for artificial intelligence (AI) and accelerated computing, with revenue reaching a record $96.2 billion in its second quarter of fiscal 2027, representing a 106% increase from the same quarter a year earlier.
Nvidia's Chief Executive Jensen Huang has described the current period as an inflection point for AI, arguing that computing demand is accelerating as AI moves from experimentation into commercial applications.
