Nvidia Unleashes GPU Fire Sale at QuakeCon
Nvidia is trying to shake up the graphics card market by selling its high-end GPUs at their launch prices during QuakeCon. This move comes as a response to the current state of graphics card pricing, which has become increasingly ridiculous.
The company will be selling RTX 5080 and 5090 graphics cards for $999 and $1,999 respectively, which are the same prices they were launched at in early 2025. This is a significant drop from the current market prices, which can range from $4,000 to over $2,000 for an RTX 5090.
Nvidia's Verified Priority Access program will allow attendees of QuakeCon to purchase these GPUs directly from the company at their MSRP while supplies last. This program was first introduced in 2022 as a way to sell GPUs directly to consumers and prevent resellers from taking advantage of high demand.
