Nvidia Unveils Open Agent Safety Platform for Secure AI Deployment

Nvidia has launched its Open Agent Safety Platform to secure AI agents from testing to deployment. The platform is an open software platform and reference system design aimed at strengthening AI security across software, hardware, compute, and robotics systems that run agents.

According to Nvidia, recent incidents have highlighted the need for full-stack governance and control over AI agents. These incidents include OpenAI's agents hacking the Hugging Face platform and Anthropic's model displaying rogue behavior.

Nvidia's Open Agent Safety Platform enables organizations to deploy elements according to their unique requirements. It includes Nvidia OpenShell, a secure runtime software that sets boundaries for agents running on CPUs, and Nvidia Sentry, an out-of-band watchdog that monitors agent behavior and enforces security policies independently in silicon.
