Nvidia Unveils RTX Spark N1X: A System-on-Chip Challenger to x86 Dominance
Nvidia's RTX Spark N1X is a system-on-chip that combines an Arm-based CPU with a Blackwell-generation integrated GPU on one package, aiming to compete directly with Apple, Qualcomm, AMD, and Intel for the entire PC market.
The chip will be available in two configurations: a higher-end version with a 20-core Grace CPU, 6,144 CUDA cores, and up to 128GB of unified memory, targeted at laptops and small-form-factor desktops; and a lower-end version with an 18-core CPU, 5,120 CUDA cores, and 24-32GB of memory, mainly for laptops.
Nvidia has partnered with six OEMs - ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft's Surface team, and MSI - to build N1X systems, with Acer and Gigabyte expected to join later in the rollout window. The company expects volume sales, not a boutique halo device.
