Nvidia Unveils RTX Spark N1X Chip for Laptops and Desktops

Nvidia has finally confirmed the launch of its RTX Spark N1X chip, which will debut in laptops and desktops in October. The company has announced two configurations for the chip: one with a 20-core Grace CPU and a 6,144-core Blackwell GPU, paired with between 24-128GB of unified memory; and another with an 18-core CPU and a cut-down 5,120-core Blackwell GPU, along with 24-32GB of unified memory. The latter configuration will only be available in laptops.

Nvidia has not specified many details about the chip, but it's clear that the company is positioning the RTX Spark N1X for use in AI and gaming applications. Several OEMs, including Lenovo, Acer, Asus, Dell, MSI, HP, and Microsoft, have announced plans to release systems based on the chip.

The launch of the RTX Spark N1X will also break Qualcomm's exclusivity on Windows on Arm, bringing a new silicon vendor into the ecosystem. This could lead to more partnerships between application developers and Nvidia in the future.
