Nvidia's AI Lead Set to Fuel Continued Growth
Nvidia's dominance in the AI market has led to significant growth over the past five years, with an initial investment of $1,000 now worth almost $10,000. However, investors are wondering what the future holds for the company.
The data center business is Nvidia's largest source of revenue, accounting for 92% of its top line in the first quarter of fiscal 2027. The company has also expanded beyond graphics processing units (GPUs), partnering with companies like Marvell Technology to develop custom AI processors and optical components.
Nvidia's partnership with Marvell is expected to give customers more options when developing their infrastructure, while its investment in Ayar Labs will help hyperscalers connect their AI infrastructure with optical networks. The company also plans to generate $20 billion in revenue from its Vera server CPU sales this year, with a potential addressable market of $200 billion.
Analysts predict that Nvidia's growth rate will continue beyond fiscal 2029, driven by the enormous size of the AI accelerator market and new opportunities in areas like custom AI processors and co-packaged optics. If Nvidia trades at 12 times sales by 2030, its market cap could reach almost $11 trillion.
